How Can I Earn Online?

I occasionally spend a bit of time at a site called MyLot and because of that I decided to set this blog up as a point of reference. For those of you who don’t know MyLot is basically a discussion site where you can get paid for posting your opinions etc. Of course you don’t have to be a member of MyLot to make the most of this blog. It’s open to anyone that is interested in learning how to earn online.

In reference again to MyLot there’s a whole lot of people on there who seem to think earning a few cents a day via paid to action programs is the way to go - yes it’s incredibly easy to do (if you can avoid the scams) but even so one of the biggest questions seems to be How Can I Earn Online?

Now before we get started I need to point out that I won’t be promoting paid to action programs (that is sites that pay you to read emails, take surveys etc) in fact with the exception of MyLot I don’t do that type of thing (and I only do MyLot as it’s a great way to learn new things and share what I’ve learnt)

Having said that I’d also like to point out that yes you will find some referral links to different things in here, but not to everything. You will also find links to many free sites that can help when it comes to earning online, along with a few paid programs etc - but don’t think you need to pay for anything or that I’m going to be ramming that type of thing down your throat - if I mention a paid program at all it will only be because I’ve found it useful for me, but that doesn’t mean I expect you to rush out and purchase it, because where possible I’ll also try and point out the free ways you can do things. I’ll try to make a point of putting any links etc to sites/programs I talk about at the bottom of each post or page for easy reference.

If you’ve made it this far I guess you’re wondering what it is I do to earn online

Well in a nutshell I create my own websites and blogs and add a variety of different income streams to them, depending on the topic/nich of the blog.

And let me add that it’s actually a whole lot easier than you might think.

Okay - this opening post is getting a bit long-winded so I’ll get down to how this blog will work and the best way for you to get started earning online.

I’m going to try and cover each stage of setting up your own website and setting up your own blog (you can do either or both of them) how to choose the best income streams to add to them and how to get traffic to them etc. You’ll find a variety of different links and categories in the sidebar which will set out the steps in what I hope will be an easy to follow manner.

For those of you who think you’ll find this blog useful I’d urge you to subscribe to it (I use google reader as my feedreader of choice, but there are others - bloglines etc - I’ll probably cover rss feeds and feed readers in later sections) but for now if you’re not signed up for any free feed reading program I urge you to do so. Not only are they good for your business they can help you keep track of your favourite blogs or newscasts etc.

If you don’t know how to subscribe there’s a couple of ways to go about it.

Pretty much any site that offers an rss feed will have a subscribe button somewhere on the page - it could be a big orange button or a small link that says subscribe here. You may also see the orange subscribe button in your browser’s address bar. Or you can place the url to the site directly into your feedreader of choice and ask it to get the feed.
